a 'doggiblog' song by Cat!...

RIP Ted Harrison

Ted Harrison was a very popular teacher at Slim School Malaya, the same school I attended, he was there in the 1950s so I was never taught by him but I heard all about him from others and he is featured on the Slim School Malaya website there are many photos and reports of his time in Malaya.

I know there are a few of you bloggers that live in that part of the world and his artwork is amazing, inspired by his time in Malaya, according to reports.

Confused Kingfisher

G'day from a particularly warm Brisbane. This local Kingfisher just gave my new place a quick check out - after crashing into a glass door and landing on my deck in an untidy heap. One he got his breath back he was off.

This Girl Can - and so can this Granny!!

Another old favourite

Trevor Ward-Davies, best known as Dozy from the 60s pop group Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, has died at the age of 70.
The bass guitarist and founder member of the band died in hospital on Tuesday following a short illness. Between 1965 and 1969, the group spent more weeks in the UK singles charts than the Beatles. The flamboyant quintet, named after the five friends' nicknames, formed in Salisbury in 1961.

The importance of water
Interview with 101 year-old Hattie Mae MacDonald of Feague, Kentucky:
Reporter:  Can you give us some  health tips for reaching the age of 101?
Hattie: For better digestion I drink beer.  In the case of appetite loss I drink white wine.  For low blood pressure I drink red wine.  In the case of high blood pressure I drink scotch.  And when I have a cold I drink Schnapps.

Reporter:  When do you drink water?

Hattie:  I've never been that sick.

RIP Lance Percival

Little story about Lance Percival, RIP,  who in my mind was a great comedian.
He visited my school in the Cameron Highlands in what was Malaya, Slim School, as part of the forces entertainment tour, must have been 1963/64.  He was so funny and after the concert we were all asked to write an essay on what we thought.  I won and received two books, Dictionary of Flowers and Peter And Jane in Brittany...still got both.  When I have worked out how to photo and share I will post.

Another memory too, whilst was at PRS I sent in a request for 'If you like beetroot I will be true to you' it was played on the Saturday morning show...cannot remember details but it was sung by Lance P.
