Guess what I have been riding on today, Roger!

1066 and all dat jazz!...

...the Battle of Hastings,14 October, 1066, between the Norman-French army of William, the Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson, thus beginning the Norman conquest of England...
...it took place approximately 7 miles northwest of Hastings, close to the present-day town of Battle, East Sussex, and was a decisive Norman victory...

Talking about pumpkins

Been a dry year for big pumpkins.

Couldn't resist....

Not wishing to steal Paul's thunder, but it's an event worth celebrating. Tangled Up in Blue was where I was at when I met my wife. This version is not as good as the original on Blood on The Tracks, but it's all about the words. Get the them if you can;  it's up there with Tambourine Man.... life in a few stanzas.

The Mighty Continent VI

And you thought our European cousins were strange? Take it from me, after drinking this stuff Jean-Claude Junker seems like the epitome of normality.

The Mighty Continent V

If you've ever owned a Citroen or had a French girlfriend then you know the French do things differently and as someone who has always been intrigued by Heath-Robinson constructions this wonderful device attracted my attention on a recent visit to see our Gallic cousins.

I've posted a few photos so you can admire it's wonderful lines. Sorry ladies this is clearly a guy thing.....

If you want to know more about this awesome turbine which has both a stator and a rotor, it's called an √Čolienne Boll√©e. There was a time when I only had eyes for the women. Sad isn't it?

The Mighty Continent IV

Wherever I go in Euroland these days, when people realise I'm British they want to talk about Brexit. The Austrians who are very phlegmatic about us leaving have written a special farewell tune. If you watch the video closely you may even learn some slick new moves to try with your aging knees.
