New Moke possibly

BMW is working on plans to rejuvenate the Mini Moke name with a production version of the Beachcomber concept unveiled last year.
The car was originally shown at the Detroit motor show as preview of the Countryman (both models share the same platform) but now it appears that Mini has two designs for a potential road-going version.
According to Autocar, one version is based on the concept car and is already known as the Moke within BMW, while the other is three-door model tentatively named the Canyon Coupe.

These stories always amaze me

Last night I found a website 'Virtual aircraft museum' I followed the trail from UK to Vickers to Wellington, at the bottom under comments was a request for info from a Johnathan Lilley asking for info on his lost Grandad... He was my dads pilot... Unfortunately the E-Mail shown does not receive mail. I have done variations without result. I will keep trying to contact Johnathan and send him this pic. I also have the operations record. Won't he be surprised. PS. Have a great reunion

Collingwood Girl rides the waves

Morning all.... just back from, catching waves in Croyde - photo of Collingwood Girl on surf board following later (no not me I was taking the photo, my sister Frances) Sadly by the time I had run up the hundreds of steps, taken my wet suit off and run back down (fully clothed) with camera the sea had gone nearly flat!

Going to post the photo via Carol or someone who can put it on for me.... still cannot post photos it seems.

One for the petrol heads

As you will notice, this is the fantastic Audi R8 all wheel drive. The top speed is reported at 187 mph (301 km/h). The 0-60 mph (96 km/h) speed is reported at an incredible 4.4 seconds. To top that off, the 1/4th mile (400 m) time has been registered at 12.5 seconds at 113.2 mph (182.2 km/h). Without having much knowledge with automobiles, you can tell that these statistics are more than impressive. The Audi R8 also features a V8 (4.2 L) or a V12 (6.0 L) engine (with a V10 planned) along with a 4.2 L (4163 cc) displacement. Finally, it is important to know that the engine clocks in at 414 bhp (309 kW) at an incredible 7800 rpm. The default transmission is a standard Audi manual gearbox or an Audi "R-tronic" gearbox. These transmission options are also available on the Lamborghini Gallardo, yet another feature these two cars share in common.

Great Tit - 8

The Yorkshire Passport Company

Being a very proud patriotic county, we thought we needed our own passport. The Yorkshire Passport is printed and produced in the quality and style of the old type British Passport, and is an ideal gift for patriotic Yorkshire people who are living at home or abroad. Often people visiting Yorkshire from anywhere south of Watford will ask "Do I need my passport ?" - the answer is YES.
A large number of Yorkshire born celebrities now carry the Yorkshire Passport, also many visiting dignitaries have been presented with an "HONORARY" Yorkshire Passport.
http://www.yorkshirepassports.com/

Time to resurrect this again, me thinks

Hey up Sue, Alex, Paul, Helga, Eileen etc.

Hey up Alex

Not much chance of one of these coming the way of our Suvvern geezer!

Seve Ballesteros, (1957 - 2011) one of golf's most gifted and charismatic players, has died after a long battle with cancer.
The 54-year-old passed away surrounded by his family at his home in Pedrena, northern Spain, in the early hours of Saturday morning. R.I.P.

I'VE GOT IT, PAUL...........

Found this in the Telewag today:

Psychologists found that people who watched an eight minute clip from a scary movie suffered more symptoms associated with post traumatic stress if they were left handed than if they were right handed.

When asked to recall events from the film clip, taken from near the tense climax of thriller Silence of the Lambs, left handed volunteers gave more fragmented accounts filled with more repetition than their right handed counterparts.

This effect is common in people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Led me to think: I wonder if there's a correlation between shoe size and left-hand-drive cars? Surely, we can get funding for the research from somewhere? Just, where?

Clever!
