Collingwood belles show how they did it

Carol Goronwy, who sent in this photo, only had a camera for the last half term that she was at PRS. She had to beg to borrow the family treasure to get some snaps - this one being taken June 23rd 1966 - before breakfast on her very last day at PRS. The belles, who are all from Collingwood, are - Helga Smith, Sue Wells, Sue Cumner and Sue Burroughs. Don't ask what the significance of the ladder was. One of those girly things, but there is an unproven theory that it was used to let the lads up to their rooms after dark!

Fliegerdeich view

This aerial view of Fliegerdeich looks across the water towards the mainsite (the outline of the bunker can be seen at the top of the photo). Our thanks to Andy Renou for providing it. This and other artistic works of Andy can be viewed on the TWA member's site.

PRS's High Flyer

It is not everyone who can claim to have been at school with a former pupil who achieved the rank of Air Chief Marshall, but some PRS pupils can. Out there somewhere are contemporaries of Sir David who remember him at PRS. So, let's be hearing from you.

Remember the '50's look?

Yes ladies...you too will have dressed like this if you were at PRS in the 1950s or earlier!
Stepping it out on the left, our very own Eileen Ripley.

Class of '51

Who is that gorgeous girl (7th from left, back row) proudly standing next to Gwyneth Paltrow? Why, it is our very Own Eileen Ripley of course. Eileen, who now lives in (or near) York, was in Raleigh House on Fliegerdeich before it became exclusive to the boys (Drake and Collingwood) at a later date. Thanks for sending in the photo Eileen!

PRS still going strong

Seen this very morning by our very own Eileen and snapped using her hi-tech, digital camera. Apparently this van is seen regularly in the York and 'Ull area, where the driver and co-driver peddle various services, from snow clearing to chimney sweeping to car washing.

Good day, sun shine....

PRS belles on the other (sea) side of the dyke of Raleigh House circa 1951. Photo by courtesy of Eileen Ripley. Will leave the colour of the water to your imaginations, but I believe the sky looks at least blue!

Cast your mind back

Do you recognise these PRS (or should I say St Trinian's) belles from your PRS days? Unfortunately the original photo was lost, but we live in hope of its eventual recovery.

Collingwood boy

Anyone recognise this Collingwood Boy from the late 50's early 60's era?
